Ale For Arthritis

How many of us hate pain? Let’s take a wild guess and say…everyone! Arthritis and rheumatic disease are more common than many people realize. They can happen abruptly and slowly spread throughout the body. It is important to be aware of these diseases and how they occur in order to help prevent them.

Ale STD postcard (1)-1The good news is that Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center (SMOC) will be partnering with the Arthritis Foundation of Hampton Roads to increase awareness, education, and funding to help find a cure for arthritis and related diseases.

SMOC and the Arthritis Foundation of Hampton Roads would like to invite you to join them on September 11th from 1-4pm at the O’Connor Brewing Company in Norfolk, at the “ALE FOR ARTHRITIS”event hosted by the Arthritis Foundation of Hampton Roads. This is a family event featuring craft brews from O’Connor brewing company of Williamsburg, as well as great food, live music, and a silent auction to raise awareness to help find a cure for arthritis and rheumatic diseases.

Even if you do not attend the event, SMOC would like to present a new and exciting, no cost to you, resource provided by the Arthritis Foundation. The “Better Living Kit” is an educational kit filled with information on treatment, resources, and a free health tracker! How can you say no to that? Arthritis can start early, between the ages of 20 and 30, so it is important to get tracking!
