Interventional Pain Specialists
Meet Dr. Tseng
Victor W. Tseng, DO
Board Certified Interventional Pain Specialist
Whether it’s post-surgical or chronic, pain management is a crucial element in any orthopaedic treatment plan. Dr. Tseng thinks of himself as a non-surgical orthopaedist. He treats patients with a holistic approach, utilizing injections, interventional procedures, and therapy instead of a scalpel. Some of the more advanced procedures that Dr. Tseng performs include radiofrequency ablations, spinal cord stimulators, and kyphoplasties.
In addition to interventional pain management, Dr. Tseng has expertise in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), which allows him to help patients who suffer from catastrophic injuries, such as a stroke or amputation. He is also well versed in the fields of acupuncture and electromyography (EMG).
Dr. Tseng also incorporates physical therapy with most patients, making sure they take full advantage of SMOC’s team of in-house therapists. “Having it all under one roof makes the patients’ experience more comprehensive and leads to a faster recovery,” he says.

Breakthroughs in Treatment
Dr. Tseng closely follows advancements in neuromodulation with spinal cord stimulators. It is the only procedure in spine care that allows patients to do a trial period before a permanent placement. It can literally make your chronic pain disappear and give you your life back. He also performs Kypholplasties as an out-patient procedure. SMOC is one of the few Orthopaedic centers in Hampton Roads that offers this option.
